Article: THE SHEPHERD SEARCHES FOR THE ONE LOST LAMB
He (Jesus) told them this parable. "Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn't leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance."
— Luke 15:3-7, World English Bible
I am compelled to write this article to encourage those who have left their first love (Jesus Christ) and for those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is the Great Shepherd who searches for the one lost sheep, while the ninety-nine were left in the field that would provide all of their needs and there would be divine safety. But the Shepherd was persistent with a sense of loving urgency to find the one sheep that was wandering on a mountainside; lost and all alone.
Some of us have been that one lost sheep - and with Jesus Christ, our Great Shepherd's awesome love and faithfulness to take care of the sheep that His Father has given Him, He is determined to find that one lost sheep so He can have that one lost sheep to return to the flock. The Flock, a group of other sheep, walk close together and they find comfort in the fellowship of the other sheep. They also have a strong sense of safety because they know they are being watched over by the Great Shepherd.
BELOW: Here is another story where Jesus travels across the lake to find a demon-possessed man who was abiding in the tombs. Jesus went to that region (Gerasenes) just to deliver and heal that ONE demon possessed man. This is a great example of how the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior going after the ONE man.(Sheep)
JESUS GOES AFTER ANOTHER SHEEP: A ONE DEMON-POSSESSED MAN IN A TOMB
Mark 5:5:18
5 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
9 Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.” 10 And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.
11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12 The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.” 13 He gave them permission, and the impure spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
14 Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. 15 When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16 Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. 17 Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.
18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him.
In CLOSING, I want to encourage you today with this aforementioned article. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian and you have wandering off on your own mountainside and you are lost. Jesus, the Great Shepherd, is there to leave the ninety-nine in safety and divine provision as He goes out to find you. Please allow the Great Shepherd to bring you back into the fold of His sheep-- where you will be in fellowship with other Christians and you will be welcomed home where you will receive healing, comfort and love again.
And Jesus is also looking for those whose life is in bondage of sin (Chains) and in your life you are living inside of a dark tomb (a devastating place in your life, whether it is with your health, poverty, drugs, alcohol, pornography, the occult or cult, or in the homosexual lifestyle. Jesus, the Great Shepherd will find you and can bring you into the "Fold" (The Body of Christ). Through Jesus Christ, you will have redemption and salvation when you accept Him as your Lord and Savior. If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, all you have to do is believe that He died on the Cross at Calvary (for the sins of mankind), Then all you have to do is ask Jesus Christ into your heart. Here is a prayer that you can pray right now, where you at right now:
SAY: Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you died on the Cross at Calvary. I am a sinner and I believe you died for all the sins of the world. Please forgive me for all of my sins. I am asking you Jesus, to come into my heart. I believe you are my Lord and Savior. i need you Jesus. Thank you for being my Lord, Savior and Redeemer. I want to serve you for the rest of my life. Amen.
NOTE: Heaven is rejoicing over the fact that Jesus has found One more lost sheep and you, whom He has brought forth says "Welcome Home". Jesus loves you more than you can fathom! May God richly bless you my newfound friends, brothers and sisters in Christ. We love you all!
My beloved, let us be used by the Great Shepherd and help find the lost sheep out there who need to find their way home. May God give you courage, strength, boldness, wisdom and truth that sets the captives free. Much love and prayers to all of you my beloved.
