SUBJECT: FROM INDIVIDUAL "REKINDLED
EMBER" TO "CORPORATE REVIVAL
WILD FIRE"
Hey Brothers and Sisters In Christ, recently The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, saying, "Revival has begun in The Saints of God as an "Individual Rekindled Ember" and will become a "Corporate Revival Wild Fire" in The Body of Christ!"
As I pondered on The Holy Spirit's words, I was reminded of a statement that Dr. Bob Smith (Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas) made during a sermon on March 7, 2009 (please see below)
Sermon Title: "REVIVE US AGAIN"
"Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” (Psalms 85:1-6)
I believe the greatest need of our churches today is not more buildings or more buses. It’s not even more people. (Sometimes I think we’ve got too many of the kind we’ve got!) Our greatest need is for revival. For ten years I traveled across America in full-time evangelism. My goal in each meeting was for God to help me to see revival in the preacher. You see, no matter what happens in the church, if revival doesn’t come to the pulpit, it’s not going to last long in the church. Oh, there is such a need once again for old-fashioned, Bible-believing, fundamental, Baptist, soulwinning churches to be revived. We’re still doing the right things, going through the motions, but we’ve lost the joy of it. “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
Dr. Bob Smith (Pastor - Trinity Baptist Church Arlington, Texas)
What Pastor Smith has said in his aforementioned portion of his sermon resonates loudly in my spirit; The greatest NEED in The Body of Christ is REVIVAL. I believe that we are about to experience an outpouring of "holy fire" amidst "The Household of Faith". This "holy fire" will bring revival that will begin with personal (individual) lamentation, repentance and purification of anything that is stifling the movement of The Holy Spirit in our lives as individuals. Then folllowing this phase of the revival, I believe there will be a rekindling of an inner ember that will collectively start ablaze throughout congregations (churches) resulting in a Corporate (The Body of Christ) "revival wildfire" and we will witness great miracles, signs and wonders. We must realize that the Bible tells us in 1 Peter 4:17 "For it is time for judgment to begin with God's household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?" With judgment will come great healing and purification that will bring forth the aforementioned "revival fires".
I would encourage all of us to allow The Holy Spirit to do a deeper work in each of us. As He reveals areas in our lives that we need to "acknowledge and "clean up", then a personal revival will begin in each of us-- afpgain, I reiterate this personal "ember of revival fire" will catch ablaze in our church congregations and spread out into The Body of Christ Corporately causing "revival wildfires" and we (and the works) will witness (experience) miracles, signs and wonders.
Have a blessed Friday and an incredible weekend!
Much love & prayers,
